Dress Well with Must Have Fashion for Winter 2009
The London weather has got cooler, the days are becoming not as long and another bunch of international fashion house shows has fallen down on the world’s fashion capitals, from glitzy New York to trend setting London. Yup, November is absolutely here, and as always, we have our fingers on the proverbial pulse of designer fashion’s thumping heart! With our choice of British and global fashion designers ranging from the fantastic iconic designer fashion houses (Lanvin, Balenciaga) to the fiercest names (Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney) to the trend setting ones to keep an eye on (Christopher Kane, Erdem), it is no surprise London’s elite commonly tell friends that they don’t shop designer clothes anywhere other than Matches!
This season catwalk fashion is dramatically structured, and we’re obsessed with some of autumn’s mind-blowing statement-making trends. Christopher Kane’s fiercely cool animal printed tees have been purchased by the catwalk fashion pack, gracing front rows and the hottest fashion pages of magazines alike. The t shirts are the number one partner to another key fashion trend at the moment - leggings - yes, this is the season to flash those limbs, and Freda, Sykes and of course Les Chiffoniers have all manufactured some ultra-sleek, spectacular pairs. For the more daring, there are thigh-high boots - these thigh huggers are the absolute trend of the Autumn season; Stella McCartney’s version are black, gorgeous, and utterly show-stopping. These bold black leather boots look set to stay around, and we couldn’t be happier; they are an easy way to give even the blandest outfit a flash hit of on-trend fashion fever. Now, this is absolutely the Autumn season to put your shoulders forward! Big, padded shoulders are making an electrifying comeback - shockingly wearable, this is an extremely flattering trend this time around, and we are in love with Julien McDonald’s strikingly phenomenal sharp-shouldered dresses.
We say bring on the colder dark mornings and blustery afternoons…the British weather may get chilly but with such super clothes to wear this Autumn season, we will ensure you look hotter than in August.
